Totally ("we") makes the Totally: Tax Receipt Scanner app for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does with your information.
Your receipts stay on your iPhone
Receipt photos, the text read from them, amounts, categories, notes, your income estimate and tax settings are stored only on your device. Receipts are read with Apple's on-device text recognition. We do not run servers that receive your receipts, and we cannot see them.
Receipts leave your device only when you send them yourself, for example when you export a PDF, CSV or Tax Pack and share or email it. Where it goes then is up to you and the service you choose.
The app has no account and no bank connection.
Camera and photos
Totally uses the camera to scan receipts and, if you choose photos or files, reads only the items you pick. Images are saved inside the app on your device.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which features help people, the app sends anonymous usage events (for example "scan completed" or "paywall viewed") to PostHog, our analytics provider. These events:
- never include receipt images, receipt text, merchants or amounts;
- use a random identifier created by the app, not your name, email, Apple ID or advertising identifier;
- are not used for advertising or tracking across apps and websites;
- include your App Store country, but not your location.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Share anonymous usage.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your purchase history (product, dates, price, App Store country) together with a random app user identifier. We do not receive your payment details. Notifications
Trial and quarterly tax reminders are scheduled on your device. Nothing is sent from our servers.
Tracking
Totally does not track you across other companies' apps or websites and does not show ads.
Children
Totally is not directed at children under 13.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. To ask about anonymous usage data, contact us with the request and we will delete what we can associate with it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
